Who here is playing/has played non-trad fantasy campaign frame? I'm talking things like Motherboard/Colossus of the Drylands.
I'm super excited for more science fantasy settings and more settings inspired by other historical periods besides vague medieval Europe

Depends on the setting, and when they're introduced intonthe game. My GM @notjustanacrobat.bsky.social does a great job of using backstory NPCs to emotionally devastate me

A character like that is so awful when it's unintentional and such a delight when it's 100000% on purpose

Players are as responsible, if not more, for making sure the GM and their fellow players are enjoying the game as the GM is responsible for the same

Everyone needs to contribute to a healthy table culture, and putting all the responsibility on the GM leads to omega burnout

I started writing 3rd party content through scenarios for Call of Cthulhu & I'd love to flex those muscles for DH

As trite as it might sound, failure in experimenting is often more useful than succeeding. Learning what doesn't work helps to build your understanding of a subject and meaningfully improve

Honestly, there's a fairly solid chance that they completely missed it. We're our own worst critics, after all

It was a lot of fun!
They suspected the king was a changeling the entire time, but we agreed at the beginning of the encounter that an out-right accusation from a group of random adventures wouldn't be convincing. So instead, they had to dance around it until they'd built up their argument

Another great Daggerheart session! I believe I have managed to crack the problem of making a single Adversary a true solo challenge. One phase changing boss Adversary and an Environment lead to two PC Death Moves - 1 went Blaze of Glory 😮 & the other Risked it All (successfully). Tense but fun.

(And by bounced I mean that he fused himself with the giant zombie's heart and had the undead throw him through the hole in the sky back to the underworld, all the while cackling maniacally)

Then the evil wizard behind it all said "fuck it" and opened a hole in the sky for a 50 foot tall zombie and about a thousand ghouls to fall out and destroy the orcish city in a final gamble (which my level 8 players were just able to stop by dealing so much damage to the wizard that he bounced)

I got to run social combat in my #daggerheart campaign and my players loved it!
An imposter was passing himself off as an oricsh king, and after a full real-world hour of catching him in contradiction and questioning his sudden decision to go to war, he was exposed as a changling!

Honestly, a really interesting exercise. It would force you to strip things down to really figure out what's necessary vs fluff. Doing that for PF boggles the mind, but very impressive!

That's amazing!!! And I can certainly relate, the long-running campaign was 9 years of 5e before we made the swap to DH. It was a lot of fun converting everything (though my players are still getting used to their new kits)

What's your setting like?

I've also got two more new settings chambered (passively working on, in addition to HSE content) that I'm excited to get into one day. One is science fantasy inspired by the Destiny franchise and the other is a fantasy setting inspired by Canadian history

The one I ran today is a mini campaign (only intended to go for 3 to 4 more sessions), and the one I'm running tomorrow is a port of a long running 5e campaign (converted to tier 4 DH)

Absolutely! I really feel like everyone is giving it there all, and the new structure gives everyone room to shine (as it's not 7 people sharing the spotlight like previous campaigns)
