Charlie was the one following a joke. The ship doesn't appeal to people with daddy issues because there is no father daughter dynamics. The ship falls under many tropes and none of them are daddy related. Just because you hc a ship to be father and daughter, doesn't make it canon.

He doesn't treat her like a daughter. Playing along with jokes is a thing. It's not anywhere near incest. They do not see eachother as father and daughter. Viv herself has even confirmed they dont.

It's perfectly fine because Charlie doesn't see Alastor as a father figure. Alastor isnt taking the spot and Viv already said it was a massive joke.
It was really the equivalent to a your mom joke which most 8 years old understand.
