Been reading up on this since yesterday. I've poured too much money into my living room PC to replace it but... The Steam Machine will absolutely become my bedroom console to share with my wife. Then we can each have a Deck and I'll pair the Frame with my living room PC. Awesome stuff, Valve.

Honestly now that Kratos is revered, I don't see this being another "take down the entire pantheon" situation. Egypt only had one truly evil god, Set, their God of War. So maybe Ra and Anubis recruit Kratos and Freya to take down Set, who wants to rule Egypt.

You'd be surprised! Almost all of the Skyrim Keyblade mods used the PS2 models, so the fact that you're using the KH3 models means you're finally giving the updated Keyblades fans have wanted for years!

If this turns out to be more than the obvious stuff like MLB, very small "indie" games under the PS banner, or LEGO versions of their IP, there will be absolutely zero reason left for anyone to buy a PlayStation again. Because eventually, it will be available literally everywhere else.

If I remember what the actual test was correctly, it makes me wonder if they're testing NSO's capabilities for possible MMO ports for both consoles, but especially Switch 2. I'd play the hell out of some FFXIV on Switch 2!

Got my Switch 2 preordered at GameStop today! I'm so happy and relieved because we showed up kinda late with a huge line, but they had more than enough for everybody, even as more people showed up after us. See yall in June! 🤙

It’s an amazing new indie game that is inspired by JRPGs and made by a team of only 30 developers!

So the basic premise is, unless Sony decides to actually compete with beloved IP libraries with their own, my setup will remain simple: A PC and handheld PC with Steam and Game Pass, and a Switch 2. Sony's just losing now.

With Xbox very openly embracing PC and multiplatform releases, even with the IP they own, I see no reason not to get their games on PC. Any third-party games that don't come to PC right away are very likely to hit Switch 2 as well. Which is where I'd play those.

What Sony focuses on; Photorealistic and cinematic storytelling games. This is great. I love these series. But they're not sustainable on their own.

What Sony could be; A real competitive force with exclusive IP that would no doubt rival Nintendo's. Imagine this: Big budget AAA series: God of War, The Last of Us, Spider-Man/Marvel, Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei, and Horizon. They could absolutely make these every few years. Throw all the money they want into them. It works. But it's not sustainable. So, my proposal is creating AA divisions within each studio. Creating AA games would be more cost effective and create a source of constant revenue. And they have an IP for any field. Classic platforming adventures: Astro Bot, Sackboy, Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Tomba!, and Ape Escape. First-Person Shooter: Killzone Action-adventure: The Ico Series, Gravity Rush, and inFAMOUS Hack n Slash: MediEvil Rhythm game: Parappa the Rapper JRPG: Legend of Dragoon Action RPG: Bloodborne(via FromSoft) Racing: Twisted Metal A division for AA games to release frequently and fund their heavy hitters would not only work financially, but would revive so many great games. And they could all release on PC at later dates too. I'd keep a PlayStation for these launches if Sony listened.

My main issue with Sony is one photo being what they're focused on vs another photo showing what they could be. Imagine God of War, Last of Us, and Insomniac-Marvel being their AAA titles. That's the bag, I get it. But they have a plethora of dead IP that have great potential as AA titles.

If the #NintendoSwitch2 gets very strong third-party support, then I can very likely see a future where I'll only own a PC, handheld PC, and a Switch 2. I'm very patient and can wait for PS games to come to PC. The only way Sony gets me to buy a PS6 now is reviving its dormant IPs.

My personal issue is that I believe live service works for games like Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, but we don't need the market saturated with clones or beloved single player franchises trying to compete in that field. The problem isn't live service, it's corpos wanting EVERYTHING to be live service

Man I'm getting ready to do the same. I'm downloading all my posts from Meta because I have good memories I posted there but I'm about to stick to Bluesky and classics like Reddit and Tumblr. Maybe Snapchat but that app's problem is that it's so dry.
