Gladiator II Spoiler:
Did I laugh way too hard when at the end he remembers his Mom saying “strength and honor” and then clobbers the hell out of his opponent with a river rock? Yes, yes I did. To be fair, only having the strength portion IS the most Roman way. #gladiatorii #iwastheonlyonelaughing
An old meme showing an ancient Roman sculpture of a Celtic man. It’s ultra-realistic and looks a bit like an extra handsome Pedro Pascal. Next to it is a very primitive Celtic sculpture of a man with generally the same features but the skull shape is an egg-like blob with almost cartoon features out if all proportion.
It’s almost like poverty & privation have a negative impact on the ability for artists to learn their craft.
Also this ignores local cultural tastes.
You want beautiful art? Fucking make sure your artists can learn their craft without fucking dying of starvation & learn to appreciate stylization.
remember like one month ago when republicans were the party of “protecting children”
