Not gonna update this immediately, but if I did I think I might not change a single thing other than replacing Rams with Chiefs at No. 29. Pick changed hands, but the player stays.

04.03.2026 17:41 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0My favorite memory of working with Lou Holtz was how he was absolutely adamant he could take over the Notre Dame job (this was during the Charlie Weis era) and fix everything immediately. I remember one time in particular eating dinner in the cafeteria before a show and he got fired up about it.

I briefly worked on this show and got to know the three of them a bit.
And as absurd as this show could be, it was only like 25% acting. Coach Holtz and Mark absolutely respected each other, but the bickering was very real. Mark May knew exactly how to get Coach Holtz riled up π
Chris was Stanford's o-line coach for awhile after retirement and his daughter (the little girl in the picture above) works for the program now. gostanford.com/staff/kate-d...
Wonder if coaching at his alma mater might be in Drew's future
Drew Dalman's dad Chris was forced to retire at age 30 due to a herniated disk in his neck, following a previous neck surgery earlier in his career.
Can't blame Drew at all for walking away on his own terms. He's now a 27-year-old Stanford grad who's already made $25 million. I think he'll be ok.

04.03.2026 17:41 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0So this Rams/Chiefs trades shoots down the possibility Ty Simpson going to LA in the 1st round (it never made sense to begin with, they're obviously still going for another π with Stafford).

Clemson DL coach Nick Eason (10-year NFL vet) had this to say about Peter Woods last summer.
Woods responded with the worst season of his college career.
π www.si.com/college/clem...
Woods more frequently lined up as a two-tech DT. It's a less common alignment, so there's fewer players to directly compare to but..
Among 61 qualifying DL, Woods' 3.1% pressure rate as a two-tech ranked 59th last year.

03.03.2026 18:38 β π 13715 π 2340 π¬ 2 π 1According to Dabo Swinney, Blake Miller only missed two practices during his Clemson career (and started every game over four years)

Worth noting, however, Clemson OL coach Matt Luke (joined team in 2024) has coached some pretty good pros in college.
A few of his notable OTs to go pro:
Laremy Tunsil
Bobby Massie
Broderick Jones
Also recruited Amarius Mims but only coached him for one year.
Clemson offensive tackles drafted under Dabo Swinney:
Jackson Carman
Isaiah Battle
Brandon Thomas
Chris Hairston
Four (pretty terrible) pros in 17 years.
Blake Miller will attempt to be the outlier this year.
just last year in Miami, they added Jonah Savaiinaea and Cole Strange to play guard - two well above average athletes for the position.

I had Olaivavega Ioane paired with the Chargers in a previous mock draft (it's a very common mock draft pick) but I'm not sure I see that as a good fit after studying Ioane more.
Mike McDaniels' offense requires its guards to block on the move and that's clearly Ioane's greatest weakness.
it would probably be the safest way to ensure the line gets an upgrade.

Max Iheanachor losing to David Bailey and Lee Hunter on consecutive reps.
You can't take him in the 1st round despite the testing numbers. There's just no way you're getting competent play from him early on. Too much development still needed.
Shockey had 2 years at Miami after one JUCO year
03.03.2026 14:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Of course most of those guys played in a very different era. Jeremy Shockey led 2001 Miami in receptions - maybe the greatest team of all time which also featured Hall of Famer Andre Johnson.

Kenyon Sadiq had 892 career receiving yards at Oregon. If he goes in the first round, it will be the second fewest by a first-round tight end since 2000.
Here's the five fewest so far:
Jeremy Shockey - 815
Ben Watson - 945
Jerramy Stevens - 953
Bubba Franks - 1,038
David Njoku - 1,060

A few notable picks:
TEN - Jeremiyah Love
KC - Spencer Fano
LAR - Jordyn Tyson
DAL - Dillon Thieneman

Zero impact on the Browns draft plans.
They don't have an offensive line right now. They're gonna add more in FA and the draft.

Not sure if Schefter has done this in past years but weβre now up to two posts about how draft prospects are actually larger and faster than their official NFL Combine measurements, presumably after texts from agents

The Arvell Reese hype might be a little out of control at this point.
A one-year starter at off-ball linebacker making the transition to edge-rusher in the NFL is, by definition, a boom-or-bust prospect.
I think Micah Parsons' seamless transition set unrealistic expectations.

I think Sonny Styles combine performance helps his stock. Usually crazy combine numbers don't make a difference bc they come from guys we already knew were elite athletes.
But Styles added a lot of weight from when he played safety. I wasn't sure he'd still run *that* fast.
