It was announced in the HSS business meeting, so I can share some exciting news: I am one of the new co-editors of Osiris, with Prakash Kumar, Hugh Cagle, & Monica Azzolini, serving in a 5-year term. I am honored and thrilled to be on this team, and eager to embark on this new endeavor! #HSS2025

So excited to work with such a terrific group of colleagues! The collegiality of the HSS family is one of the best part of this job! I am really looking forward to working to support authors and editors to publish innovative research in Osiris. This is a dream come true.

I have fallen off the (Blue)Sky! Anything exciting happened/ is happening while the world is burning and people are dying in the thousands under bombs? Apologies for the bleakness. It has been a difficult year for many of us.

You have become my kids’ favourite historian on Earth. They are now listening to any episode of You are Dead to Me they can squeeze even on short car trips! They loved the Agatha Christie’s episode and yesterday we listened to Captain Cook and the transit of Venus. Looking forward to the new series!

Charles Burnett has written extensively on its transmission from Arabic to Latin and Hebrew.

They were fairly standardised across the Latinate world, yes, and there were vernacular treatises too. The largest vehicle of transmission was probably Alcabitius’s short introduction to astrology. Margaret Gaida has written a great. dissertation on its reception 1/2
