Imperial Grace by @synstoria.bsky.social - 7/10 - a slow-burning, politics meets monarchy, VN that builds good story foundation and is interestingly blended with resource management. Though a longer process to get into the heart of it, it is stunning in it's customisation, art, and world-building.

I think it's a good middle ground between keeping a story on track (and thus scope manageable), but still offering interesting choices that truly affect the story!
And yes the bottleneck part does have a few lines changes (+ a lot of callback at the very end).
That's why it works well for me!

But yes, I'm sure many of those players actually would love to try other games with completely defined MC, so I really encourage them to try 💝

Also, I remember seeing some survey about a big French game with self insert, and most people said they actually don't "self" but create an OC. I think they use this as a catalyst for their own creativity bc some get very proactive in fan content afterward. They create a story in the story sort of.

I think sometime it's just comfort zone, (ie they like one thing so they want only that now) bc I have seen some playing and enjoying Imperial Grace, even so the MC has a strong personality defined. They got lured by the customization aspect (physical) but were able to enjoy it nonetheless.

I didn't. At some point it was question for them to host a web version (which I wasn't even sure I could provide but I wasn't opposed to the idea back in the time they interviewed me), but I did not gave them the files to upload nor explicit allowed it (it's not even the good version of the demo.)
