That's frustrating! I'm always an open book and even then people don't always believe me. I was in a relationship with someone whom I told on the first or second date that I wasn't looking to get married or have kids. Later on down the line he admitted he'd thought I'd change my mind and I didn't.

The other situation is more complex and involves a group dynamic that I think I misread and perhaps I'm tolerated and humoured there rather than actively liked. I know I'm "A LOT" and can be annoying, I annoy myself frequently. 😅

Right?! I value people being honest with me. One person told me I was very direct on Friday and I said "Yes, I don't believe in playing games." They in turn were very vague and non-committal (even though they hadn't been like that in messages recently) and just laughed at me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah I don't think it's just me, I just wish I was better at understanding how other people feel. Two separate things have happened this weekend from two separate sets of people and I feel like an idiot.

But also a few times I've thought people were flirting with me when they weren't or maybe they were just flirting for the fun of it not "flirting with intent" as my friend calls it. I thought I'd got better at sussing it out over the years but evidently not.

This has happened to me with platonic friendship several times where I've thought of someone as a good friend and it transpires that they thought of me more like an acquaintance.

I feel like this must be a fairly common thing among neurodivergent people right? Not picking up the vibe or whatever.

Not me overestimating my importance in other people's lives AGAIN. 🤦🏼‍♀️😅
