A load of couriers all wearing face mask sat around a yurt at the feet of a dude in a gold suit sat on a throne with his own face a pitiless void

A dude on a horse, the horse has fucking antlers and somehow that’s not the gnarliest thing here, again his helmeted head reveals a terrifying Stygian abyss where his face should be

Seen a couple of clips the past week from some 1995 Kyrgyzstan documentary The Universe of Manas and had to check out the whole thing. Just absolutely fucking unreal levels of drip here

Illustration of the Eagle Lady, wife of the Sun, according to Nahua myths of Mexico. She is an aspect of Itzpapalotl and is seen here based on a depiction of said goddess with eagle wings. Further, her image is based on a possible depiction of a goddess with gold hair and yellow paint seen married to the sun under a cloak shaped like eagle wings and tail as seen here. She represents the time of the day when the moon is still visible during sunlight. Albert Pinot's painting, "bat woman" was an inspiration for the pose and atmosphere as well.

Historical portrait illustration of the Maya queen, K'abel of the Waka kingdom in the late classic period. Here, she is shown inside a palace interior wearing a red huipil and red skirt based on a figurine depicting her found in a burial. The headdress, shield and face paint are also based on the same figurine. She also holds a baton of the lightning deity K'awiil, who was also a symbol of rulership.

Scene from my sci-fi Mesoamerican comic, Dream Rider currently in production. The top shows a futuristic city inspired by the West Mexican shaft tomb cultures in preclassic Teuchitlan, Jalisco. The bottom shows a man arriving on a monocycle at the entrance of a bustling market.

From largest to smallest, these are Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. Kingdoms are huge categories which each contain some Phyla, and so on. In this simplified example, we are looking at American Black Bears, Ursus americanus. The true number of animals in Kingdom Animalia is too large to display in this book. [there is a diagram withthe seven taxonomic ranks arranged by size in an inverted pyramid] Sometimes, taxonomists add other categories around or between these seven original ranks if a certain type of living thing is very diverse and needs more groups to be organized. For example, some Families have Subfamilies, which each contain some Genera. Plants use slightly different categories for the larger ranks, replacing both Phylum and Class with several ranks in-between called “Clades”. Because plant names are tracked differently, there is one specific exception to the rule that all scientific binomials must be unique. It is valid for both an animal and plant to have the same Genus name, as long as there is only one of each. "

I guess I'm almost ready to send the K is for Kimmeridge-et-al. manuscript to an editor. I don't technically have to do anything to publish on ingram spark, but I'd like to get at least one book industry opinion.

Gim Inpyeong and his lord, King Jinheung (re. 540~576).
