i feel uncharacteristically more self-conscious about everything this past week or so, shit is so ass

i was legit thinking i should bring it up to you... the person i watched only played half of it so i didn't get to see how it ended.

its awesome because all of the dialogue i saw genuinely felt pointless and like it was only there to sound Cool And Deep

the streamer i saw play it like walked literally 2 feet away from one of the spooky scorn guys who had just finished yapping and another one appeared and started talking to her before she could even scream 'PLEASE DONT TALK TO ME'

the game Necrophosis is so funny because it looks like a atmospheric Scorn-like walking sim deal but then every single creature and thing you walk past stops you to drop like 5 pages of meaningless Dark And Cryptic dialogue at you and it happens so frequently it feels almost like a comedy bit

original Gex is A Video Game but I do vividly remember the music going kinda insanely hard in the small chunk of it i played

one of the shitty lifehack videos in Vinny's "terrible lifehacks/food crimes" video had this really banging music that i vaguely recognized from somewhere and it took me like 20 minutes to realize a tiktok slop video was using the fucking Gex 1 title theme

every time i accidentally get killed by a swinging door in Duke 3D i imagine Duke getting cartoon flattened against a wall by the door like a Tom & Jerry cartoon

remember when they said they were bringing back the Choco Taco and it turned out it was just for some west coast super expensive hipster ice cream place? still fucking mad about that

Videodrome is so fucking good. I originally saw it on a dubious second-generation VHS copy my brother had made while working at a video store lmao

at least it wasn't as bad as Viewfinder or whatever where it clearly would have been a cool vibe puzzle game with cool ambience but for some reason they added a character that goes 'WoAAoAoAoAHHH DID I JUST LIKE, WARP REALITY WITH A PHOTO??'

i am willing to believe this may have been my fault and that i just accidentally projected a completely different idea of what the game was into my head, but the dialogue writing still didn't vibe with me

people are talking about banter dialogue in games and it reminds me of how i dropped Pacific Drive like after an hour because i realized it was not a quiet ambient driving exploration game and i had characters constantly yapping in my ear

this may sound like i'm a hater but on the contrary, i've been playing this game for like 20 years.

i do wish it was easier to recommend to people though, i feel the biggest filter isn't any of the funny annoying stuff and more that it has such heavy car controls and physics for such a silly game

you can really tell Carmageddon (1997) is a game made by British developers in the 90s because of how it randomly does things to arbitrarily annoy the player for the developer's amusement

i hate youtube so fucking much, its skipping through every video on my playlist after like 3 seconds now.

my partial counterpoint is that 90s dubs are peak (maybe not terribly accurate but a unique experience in their own right) but most modern dubs are phoned-in slop

knowing how to do pinch harmonics is awesome because it means you can sometimes be a lazy piece of shit and do one nearby to get a high note instead of having to go somewhere else on the guitar neck

nothing in particular has incited this post, i was just watching someone and they mentioned Concord and i remembered youtube grifts really went insane about that even though every single person i know thought it looked like shit

i think one of the funniest (read: most annoying) things grifters do is that they latch on really hard to games that look like shit and nobody likes and then when it very obviously fails they're like 'game DESTROYED by WOKE'

basically nothing except for a new castlevania game

wait okay that's cool too

the only other remotely interesting thing i've seen so far is that knight hack and slash game with the heavy metal that feels like something someone thought of in the late 00's/early 10s

be advised i know nothing else about the game or if it's going to be good or if its a good studio or whatever i just think it's funny they made a serious game with a chicken man

i was really about to write off that game that game that looked like it was dark souls reheated nachos until it turned out to be a game where you play as a literal buff chicken man and it's violent and gory and a dead serious hack and slash somehow

Vinny Vinesauce's Blast Corps highlights is one of my comfort videos. the 'don't motherfuck me, DON'T MOTHERFUCK ME YOU MOTHERFUCKED ME' bit and the actual angriest 'EAT A DICK' i've ever heard makes me laugh every fucking time
