A comprehensive study of over 5,000 Trans+ athletes, has found that trans women likely do not have athletic advantages over cisgender women after undergoing hormone therapy. Published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, it found that while trans women’ showed higher levels of lean mass than cis women.

The researchers found that there was no evidence "to justify blanket bans" and called for policies to "remain dynamic, guided by evolving evidence and ethical imperatives"
