Pecan is an Ossabaw Island Hog, known for being exceptionally hardy and well-adapted to cold weather. They have unique metabolisms that allow them to store large fat reserves during low-food periods.

No groundhogs here, but I don’t think Ricky is looking forward to 6 more weeks of winter 😩

Fun fact- red pandas are not in the bear family despite having "panda" in their name. They belong to their own unique family, Ailuridae. They are distinct, with a shared ancestry with raccoons, skunks, and weasels. 😄
