A black and white theatre programme for Eddie Izzardโs โHamletโ show last night in Toronto.
Great show. Afterwards Eddie said โThis may not be the best time for a trans woman to be doing a world tour, so Iโd appreciate if you shouted about it on socials.โ So, coming to the US next, then Aus & NZ. Check their website for dates.

Reading this book - and implementing findings from it into daily practice - will see you become hated. Much like standing up for kids in Gaza gets you. I thoroughly recommend it.

A photo of Dora Carrington painting Catharine Carrington in 1924.
The resulting painting of Catharine, by Dora.
Dora Carrington painting Catharine Carrington, 1924, Kings, Cambridge. Dora, and others in โBloomsburyโ such as Virginia Woolf, were despised at this time for their pacifism, and rejection of โnormsโ. The mainstream reaction to them nowadays would be similar.

Thereโs a similar thing in Zadar in Croatia, only its a sea organ, itโs pipes are built into a pier so the ocean waves becomes sounds, I sat by it for hours, itโs mesmerizing.

A painting of red and white lines flowing horizontally, resembling sand dunes.
โKalipinypaโ by Charlotte Phillipus Napurrula, of the Warlpiri, NT, Australia. The title translates as โsite/Countryโ and this work focuses on sandhills shimmering with the power of the Ancestral beings who have walked Kalipinypa for 1,000โs of years.

Yes, itโs the transparent plastic sheet that the art store Michaels has on the front of its cheap packs of canvas. I paint mostly onto that and sometimes onto baking foil that I put behind it. Mostly tho the foil is to add a shimmer through the plastic. What do you use it for?

A snowy Icelandic volcano splits the canvas in half, below is the water with basking shark and seals, and orange lava flow, above is yellow smoke and 2 common snipe birds.
โIcelandโ; the 2nd 24โx36โ canvas Iโve painted as part of my series titled โBefore the Great Amnesiaโ, an imagining of art as it might be if we regain what we lost when we gathered into towns and forgot ourselves (in about 10-8,000BC).

The cast of the barber of Seville take a bow.
The Canadian Opera Company is near where I volunteer so I often pick up rush tickets for the eveningโs show. Part of the Epstein Classโs strategy is to break us with horror stories, and part of my resistance is to indulge in great culture. Last night was The Barber of Seville, a superb show! #art

A mix of 4 cups soya mince, 1 cup each of grated carrot, onion, beets, and peas, then spices like allspice, onion, garlic, and curry powder, oregano, thyme, and salt and pepper. Plus a couple tbsp each of molasses, soy sauce, and ketchup to finish off. Cooked for about 30 mins.

A yellow Jamaican patty on a white plate with spinach, homegrown sprouts, and purple homemade coleslaw.
This past month Iโve been learning about vegan style Caribbean and Afro-American food, with help from chefs such as Bryant Terry and Lloyd Rose. My Jamaican patties have come on well; Iโve got the fat content down without sacrificing taste, and even slipped some beets in!

A real blue lower half shows a snake curled around a tree and 2 turtles, whilst a light blue sky above has a barred owl flying forward over the upper half of the tree.
A new painting, acrylic on 24โx36โ canvas, that tells of a camping trip to Frontenac in 2025, when I met an owl, plenty of water-snake, and turtles. Itโs influenced by the art of Pacita Abad, Norval Morrisseau, and general principles of Anishinaabe art.

A solar photo showing the sun rising and moving through to afternoon in the woods of Upstate NY for a full year (2025). The white lines show a bright day, the dull lines mean it was cloudy that day.
Last Xmas I put a tin-can sun camera in the Upstate NY woods. Itโs unsafe for me to visit the US now as I oppose child abuse, etc, so a friend just retrieved the can. The image shows the sun moving thru midday for the entire 1st year of the devilโs 2nd term.

Ha, I did a similar thing to you, I listened to 2 episodes in 1 day instead of just 1. But then I made myself slow down. I want not to be in so much of a rush. Iโm not on Facebook but I can see that group being a thing. Next year Iโll give reading it day by day a try, as youโve done.
