Political partisanship and extremism is destroying this country and others. Both sides are guilty. Please stop and think about something else.
Some recent astro photos. Anybody can take these pictures if they take a little time and get the right equipment.

08.02.2025 12:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A few pictures from the new Celestron Origin automated telescope. These are straight from the scope with absolutely no involvement from me during or after the image capture. It is an absolutely wonderful piece of gear that takes all the frustration out of getting beautiful images of the night sky.

17.01.2025 22:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There was another guy named Mark Hamill who was retired from the government and ran a PHPBBS consulting service out of New England.
He was a decent guy and helped me a lot with my STEM program.
He died from a horrible brain cancer last week that just sucked the life out of him. Not a common name.
Here is our nearest star today in near UV and near Infrared.

09.01.2025 04:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0thanks for sharing but I must let you know that since those satellites are leaving a short trail while the telescope mount is tracking M 42, they are just a pair of old geostationary weather satellites and not Sh*tlinks which move much faster.
M42 is in a position where every wx satellite crosses.
Quantum Electrodynamics, right?

just think how different our society would be if we evolved on a planet orbiting a star inside a bright emission nebula.
