Yeah, one thing that I've noticed is that so many people are interested in it, but the horror stories keep people from getting into it. So hopefully through me talking about it in academia and doing as much outreach as possible we can start to show others what this amazing place is about.

This wasn't an interview for a job, I was invited as a guest speaker for a summer school. Part of which was a semi structured interview with the students and the session lead.

I was invited to talk at the summer school all about the intersection of experience and technology. So the audience was really varied.

I have zoom called some people in the past to test/show how this system works...but getting to hear a whole room of questions surrounding the medium of SocialVR just shows how niche our little bubble really is.

Figured y'all might get a kick out of the fact I did a remote interview a few months ago with a bunch of Masters and Doctoral students as my avatar. Had questions about identity, interaction and even some about sleep in VR which was quite interesting.

Ok the new mainline feature is really cool, being able to curate your night through one line is such a bonus, then seeing how that stacks up with your shared one is super neat.

My first thought was that a Friday and Saturday night would look terrible on the VRChat interface...where as the timeline view is a lot more informative and clean. Would be nice to see some kinda cross posting type thing so you don't have to make a thing for both.

Once again leveling up the game when it comes to making these tools more stable and accessible!

Wonder how we are planning on handling a replay when we have changed the data format? Thankfully, HNode has support for transcoding! so you live-play the baked set through it, and it'll spit out a different data format by converting the existing one in the video

Yeh, very fair, again new technology will take time for early adopters to test the waters and see what works and what doesn't. Recently found out that specular will push eachother out of the way making them inaccurate. But if the lights are truly going then no one will notice it anyways.

I mean, you're also looking at the wall in one of the screenshots. But I do get what you mean, but the tech is new and I'm sure we will find ways of using it.

Keep in mind though that you only need 1 raymarched fog cube to handle all of the volumetrics. It isn't 1 fog per volumetric. And that the screen and world can take advantage of this too.

Like look at this...the cookies feature is amazing!

Depends what you mean by dynamic lights. The toggle to make a lightvolume point/spot/area light here wasn't toggled on, but I was also in editor, not runtime.

Because this specific tech is so new, it means that no one has come out with any proper tutorial on it.
