Ugh. I have a radio on in the background at work, just to break the monotonous silence. That damn "song"is being played constantly. Every thime I hear that piano intro I know it's time to take a bio break.

Thanks. Yeah, I did a massive reorganization of my bench a couple of months ago. Way more elbow room now.

A big thanks to the Chilliwack Retro-Computing Club for inviting me to speak yesterday by live stream to attendees at the club's Retro Computing Expo in Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦. I had a great time and I hope everyone enjoyed my talk about growing up at the dawn of the personal computer.

23.05.2025 13:49 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Hey @theretrochannel.bsky.social, I've been re-watching your CoCo 2 s-video mod videos – I'm finally pulling my unfininished #SepTandy repair video out of mothballs – did you ever revisit your NTSC CoCo 2 RF modulator conversion? I think part of the issue with my repair case is a dodgy RF modulator.
23.05.2025 12:53 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Well, decided to take on the challenge to repair a friend's old Canon PowerShot G1. Jeez, it's like peeling an onion, a lot of layers and sooooo many tiny screws!

Coincidentally, I just upgraded my old-ish (and ellegedy non-hardware compliant) workbench PC from Win 10 to Win 11 using Flyby11 (github.com/builtbybel/F...). It worked a treat, and the computer runs smoother on Win 11. Just sayin'. 🤷♂️

I built a C264 Magic Cart (which is a Magic Desk style cartridge for the C16/116/Plus4 which can access up to 2MB of software from EPROMs). It’s very cool indeed!

Thank very much for reading and commenting. Glad you enjoyed it and that my genuine enthusiasm was felt. LOL... Yeah, Mike Huffman was a great guy. He would let me sit behind the counter and copy games while my mother shopped 🤣 -- sorry Epyx, and thank you for Jumpman.
