I didn’t take the opportunity to get involved with Intrepid Web Fest this past year because of burnout and availability, BUT I LOVE IT. I think this is an important step for the continued development of APs, and I hope more people submit next year, and more folks begin writing reviews soon!

Still thinking about the ending of my Sunday battle of hearts home game session.
Imagine foreshadowing the death of a PC without knowing that's how the session would end?

Now conflicted on where to go next. I have some thinking to do and some planning to do as well anyway for my little one and the health of my partner, as well as current projects I am working on for OSS.

After nearly a decade of doing this, I find myself just... tired?
This space give me so much joy, it worked out my creative brain and artistic skills. I've met so many wonderful people but I also have been hurt a lot here, more than in my artistic career and I am/4

At the table, how we have set boundaries, learned and taught safety at the table, participating in panels about being black at the table, and fostering safe spaces wherever we can.
I know I have worked hard on that and I know others I work with and admire had worked on this too BECAUSE of /3

people during this event. I am proud of them for this and I fully accept the apology... but damage has also already been done that I am still working though.
I have been in this space for about 8 years and this brought up a lot for me in regards to respect for myself and others/2

Had to take some time to think on this because this came of the heels of some scary stuff a week prior with my partner and their health.
I want to say thank you to Mark J and Apochromatic for their apology. It was thoughtful, addressed the harm that was done to black femmes, trans, and non-binary/1

This is the first time someone has given an actual apology in this space after causing harm that I believe. Time will heal my wounds and those of anyone else involved in this, and I appreciate this example of what taking accountability and being truly sorry and committed to learning looks like.

Okay I've now touched grass, decompressed in multiple ways, and slept I can write about yesterday.

Yesterday, we as a cast & crew cancelled our game with ApocU. I spent 4+ hours between game prep, deciding to cancel, processing, decompressing and then talking to Mark J about everything.

This apology is solid & gives me hope. I hope that people see that speaking up is necessary for repair.

I hope more people follow in this path of direct and open communication of what harm they’ve done, and take similar steps to address it with sincerity and grace. If you know someone who has failed to take accountability for the harm they’ve done, offer this as an example of how to do it correctly.

If you miss the earlier post, the game had to be cancelled.
We could not in good conscience continue due to safety issues.

I've heard from others, my game is not the only one where Black people's safety was ignored. This is unacceptable. @apocunlimited.bsky.social must do better & be accountable.

Sponsors should also help to ensure that the harms are handled appropriately and that this doesn't happen again.

This game is Cancelled. Due to rampant safety issues and mismanagement by @apocunlimited.bsky.social . We the cast and producer has unanimously decided that Black life and safety overrides any stream or performance.

Black people should not be being harmed & back seated in Black history events.
