A review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) Abhorrent, irresponsible filmmaking.  I watched this almost 10 years ago (Christ), whilst studying a module called ‘Truth, Reality, and the Documentary Film’ in my year of film studies before I switch...

I decided to revisit some of the documentaries I’ve studied in the past, and found renewed rage for ‘Capturing the Friedmans’ (2003).

Not that exploitation in documentary filmmaking is a new shocking idea, but this one, for me, is particularly egregious.
