Our new report for @z2ktrust.bsky.social shows that the wellbeing benefits of PIP and DLA far outweigh their costs. PBE estimates £42bn annually in economic benefits from these wellbeing gains, compared to the £28bn cost of provision.

I recently got chatting with someone in my local shop. While we spoke, the shopkeeper brought her tea. This shop has no cafe space, but she lives alone & visits daily for tea + chats. In the UK, 5.3M face chronic loneliness. This winter, spare a moment for those around you—a simple chat can help.

To put it into perspective: that's the equivalent of the population of Newham for the total, and the population of Oxford for the children alone.
