I would like to clarify my statement on "Amateur" photographers. It was not my intention to call out brands, and I wasn't complaining about my situation. Generally I find snobs of any kind rather humorous. Some new photographers have expressed to me that they feel inadequate, when they see what other photographers are producing. They feel they will never achieve the high quality that they see many produce. I myself am aware of photos taken by amateurs and pros alike, that are on a higher level than mine. I respect that and aspire to that level of quality. But I don't let that stop me, it fuels me. My intention, lame as it was, was to encourage those just starting out, to be themselves. Don't worry about what level you think you are at. Even the pros are learning and growing. It's about the journey, not the destination. Back to the lovely lady Merganser drifting along in the blue waters... Female Hooded Mergansers are typically brownish-gray with a tawny-cinnamon crest. They have a white belly and a narrow yellow-gray bill. Their bodies are less vibrant than the males, and they lack the striking black and white patterns of the breeding male.

Annuals prep 🌱

Joy of joys, one of the rescue hellebores has decided to flower for the first time 🌱

Tip: if you want to have garden vegetables but have no yard, the Heartbreaker Vita cherry tomato does very well indoors in a sunny window or with a grow light. Very heavy producer for a tiny 12” (30cm) plant. 🌱

This cactus sat on my maternal grandmother's back porch from the late 80's until her passing in 2007. Then my mom cared for it until her own passing in 2023. Now it is mine and today I said to them both, " Look! Our cactus is blooming right on schedule." That brought a tear and also a smile! ❤️ 🌱
