At the end of 2023 that number was 4 gigawatts

The video of Fátima's arrest haunted me when I saw it last Friday because her screams captured the fears of the people I'd speaking to all week. No criminal record. Pursuing the legal process for asylum from Angola. A CNA heading off to work. And now — detained.

82-year-old resident Charlotte Ikels was getting energy from a third-party electric supplier and paid double what she could have paid with a city program. It's time to end energy scams once and for all. Read more from

For 6 years, Boston and FEMA have been working on a plan to protect the Fort Point neighborhood from flooding.
Now, FEMA has rejected the grant application, blaming Boston, saying the city failed to send the right documents. Are they being gaslit?

The numbers here are insane. A potential for three feet of rain. 165 mph winds. 10-12 feet of storm surge. And millions of people in harm's way. Just unfathomably scary.

For only the second time in recorded history, an Atlantic season has produced three Category 5 hurricanes... the previous year was 2005. This puts 2025 in an elite class of hurricane seasons. It also means that nearly 7% of all known Category 5 hurricanes have occurred just in this year.
