Declining marginal utility of money is real, but no-one at any income wants to work more to actually get *less* money.

And any system which does this, and thus causes people to cut their hours to avoid being worse off, is bad and harms society (via loss of labour, lost tax revenue).

Burnham openly gunned for Keir Starmer’s job just a few months ago. He barely even tried to offer a plausible narrative for wanting to return to Westminster except to be better positioned to mount a challenge.
