Turns out that the medication denial was due to the pre-authorization forms being filled out incorrectly. Cool. Cool cool cool.

Anyway I dunno what I was trying to say here besides “I am accruing medical bills I will struggle to pay” and “I wish I hadn’t done this to myself” and “I am scared of this appointment today”

This is compounded by the fact that the US healthcare system is garbage, and my first choice of diabetes medicine was denied by my insurance company. I have been KNOWINGLY unmedicated for diabetes for two months now. I have been trying to restrict my carbohydrates, but that likely isn’t sufficient.

I am scared of what this physical neglect has done. It’s frightening to learn you’ve got high blood pressure, high cholesterol, iron deficiency, diabetes, AND a skin condition in a matter of a month. I have another follow-up with my primary care doctor today, and I am expecting more bad news.

So I finally started taking better care of my health in October of 2025, when I turned 40. I had neglected my health for decades at that point—in fact, I hadn’t received any physical care not related to pregnancy in roughly 14 years at that point. I have accrued 5 new diagnoses in these 3 months.

Bonus infuriating thing: when the site then punishes you for using an adblocker. I wouldn’t have to if your website were USABLE!

Not much makes me angrier than a recipe site reloading two dozen times in ten minutes because there’s so many ads on the page it can’t keep up.

LRP: I wasn’t able to do a lot of things until my oldest was able to babysit their younger brother. Spaces where kids weren’t allowed were spaces I couldn’t go. I didn’t build a community of real-life friends until relatively recently, because my kids prevented me from socializing in most spaces.

Keeping children out of public spaces means that mostly women are also kept out of public spaces. It makes parenting lonelier and isolating parents is a great way to make them susceptible to all sorts of fucked up social conditioning. Also children are people and should be seen and heard.

My current total is 11,261 words, 916 words above my goal total of 10,345. Closer yet to being a day ahead!

(My pen ran out of ink and the inkwell is at home. 😔)

There's something wonderful and funny about having a fandom in law. Like, I don't go here, but my friend does, so now I know random shit about F1 teams or wrestlers or kpop groups

man plotting a novel is hard work

why is it such a struggle to figure out what should happen. ugh. (this is why I haven't attempted fantasy before now. whew)

Last night my kids were abominations who roughhoused on our bed and lost my sleep mask and I got NO SLEEP last night which means NO plotting happened today.

Perhaps tomorrow.
