I look at the message then quickly look at scans to remember exactly the injuries then reply.

"Yes. I'll see you after the tests." I kiss the right cheek before leaving the room and immediately having to rush to another room when a code blue goes off.

"It's good he did." I softly say and move to get a hospital gown.

"That doesn't make his reaction to a reasonable thing to say your fault." I say and move to make notes in her chart. "We're gonna run a CT of your head and X-rays. No matter how the scans turn out you need to rest and be careful I'm almost certain you have a concussion."

"Bullshit." I mutter. "And don't give the crap that it was an accident or your fault cause that's bullshit too." I grab my light and have her follow it with her eyes.

"Hi, sweetheart." I walk over and start doing the examination. "So who am I sending to the ER after you?" I keep my tone joking.

I blink at the chart in front of me before I take a deep breath and step into the room.

"The doctor will most likely order tests. He should be in soon." She says then leaves

She nods. "Would you like something for it?"

"on scale from one to ten?" She asks.

The nurse writes down her weight then gestures to the bed. She starts taking her vitals. She asks more routine questions about pain level, when it happened, what happened and if there's vision changes.

The nurse asks routine questions and stops at the scale. "Sir you need to set her down if she can walk."

She nods. "Okay. Please take a seat and nurse will bring you back as soon as possible."

Before they even get to walk away, a nurse calls her back.

The nurse at the desk smiles at them and takes their intake information then pauses. "Mrs. James... Do you want the doctor on staff or your personal doctor?"

I laugh. "I know all to well the risk of having a crazy mother."

I snort. "That's not gender reveal related though." We walk to the guest rooms and I drop my bag down.

I laugh. "I mean the cake cutting ones usually are fine."

"Beyond exhausted. We have four car accidents and gender reveal gone wrong." I shoulder a bag and head inside with him.

After a double shift, a nap and a flight, I pull into my sister's driveway. As I step out of the car, Ryker and Ryder run from the front. "Uncle Dim!"

My girls scurry out of the car and scoop up the baby cousins. I chuckle as they run into the house, leaving me to get the bags.

Needed a coffee this morning working a double ER shift.
