Surgical Steel really hit me hard, I almost view it as Heartwork 1, Surgical Steel 1A. I also really like Necroticism. I’ve only occasionally waded into their other discography.

I’ve always loved Heartwork but I heard it first. If I fell in love with non-melodic Carcass I probably would think differently.

I’ve had very long arguments with people about the fact that some things I think are objectively good I don’t want to listen to (often) and some things I don’t think are particularly good I play regularly. A lot of good art is painful and a lot of enjoyment has little to do with quality.
