I have just turned the heel on sock II and looking at it have realised that I have five birds instead of four. At this stage that’s just going to have to be part of the charm..!

I don’t know how I managed that… it’s my own vaguely sketched design but still…

Blue striped sock laid flat on a towel. The leg is all blues in a bobbly knot and purl pattern, the foot has some blue bit more greys and blacks.

First sock: blocking. Feat. late pattern re-planning when I realised that the second part-ball wasn’t the colour I thought it was… I like. The stitch pattern is totally lost in the stripe but I like the texture. 🧶

Looks great, and the exciting armpits remind me of a bird of paradise or something similar… you know how they can look quite subdued and then they raise their wings to display their beautiful colours… 😀

Pink, white and pastels sock with little pink birds marching round the cuff and pink heel and toe. The main part of the sock is in broken seed stitch with the which as the mean colour so it sort of looks like mermaid scales

I was worried it would be crappy but it’s nice and solid and well made.

Two partly made socks in shades of blue. One is on a mini circular needle and has a slip stitch rib pattern with ending in a sort of Celtic knot on top of the foot. The other is on a purple sock gauge loom and is a helical stripe with grey and varigated blue yarn, it is fo a much larger person.

WIPs on needles and my new loom. A cunning plan: when my hands get tired and I need to have a break from knitting socks…. I can knit socks!!!
The loom is fun. Super fast for stockinette but a bit of a faff for purl, there must be a better way?!
