It was. There was no where to go. Steep canyon, went on for a long distance. Was easier to head back to the vehicle. I have photos of its paw prints in my tracks somewhere.

Another time we were at a memorial service in the desert and one came up the edge of the cliff we were standing on for the ash spreading. That was wild. I had another follow me through a wash once, luckily he decided I wasn’t worth it.

Which time @tmkeesey.bsky.social lol. I’ve been β€œlucky” and seen 7! Wildest was collecting fossils with Ruby when she was maybe 2 on a mountain. We loaded up to leave and two jumped down from the ridge we had just been on, stopped to look at us, and then continued down the slope! 😳

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?

BREAKING: β€˜This hurts’: UNL eliminates 4 programs despite faculty, student pleas The University of Nebraska-Lincoln eliminates the Earth and atmospheric sciences 8-0, educational administration 7-1, statistics 7-1, textiles, merchandising and fashion design 7-1 programs.

It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

Woman wearing hiking clothes and boots sitting on a rock ledge with scenic hills behind her.

Look at her: A kid from Nebraska who wants to know how the world around her works, but wants to stay close to her family and community while doing so.

She could do it when UNL thought Nebraskans deserved to. She DID do it!

The next generation, though? They can't anymore.

also, Spotify doesn't pay royalties at all for tracks with less than a thousand streams.

and sometimes if an album gets a sudden surge of fan interest, Spotify deems it "unusual listening activity" and just removes the album, as happened to my last EP.

I’m sure people talk to Dan Aykroyd all the time about SNL, Blues Brothers, and Ghostbusters. But does anyone tell him about the time he broke their heart in My Girl?!
