Worked all day to get these little Alans up on etsy.

Look at those elbow patches.

Painted Alan Wake 1 style bodies propped on skewers to dry. A cardboard cat scratcher works well for this.

Alan 1 style bodies painted. The heads and hands will get the airbrush treatment.

Also hard to see but I modeled the little dot eyes as separate pieces, should make it easier to eliminate the layer lines between them.

Just an added point, anyone trying to sell you on the virtues of generative ai are either willfully stupid or actively attempting to scam you. There are no other camps and all their sugar coated words are bullshit.

I don't want to see any generative ai talk in media unless it's belittling any chumps using it. Not a shred of kindness or understanding, everyone should be publicly shamed.

I'm pretty sure the only set up for that was seeing Mary's initials on the medical report he gets from her cult daddy closet shrine.

Look, it's not very often something like Return to Silent Hill happens to a source material I know very well. I know the game so well that I can acknowledge Bloober did a really good job remaking it and Gans did the wildest misinterpretation I'll ever goddamn see. God bless that maniac.

I'm rambling but don't get me wrong, I do genuinely love how awful and misguided this movie was. I'm fascinated by it and need to understand what happened. Before I saw it I openly said how much I wanted it to swing different and boy howdy, mission accomplished.

In the movie is Maria a manifestation of the town? She sure appears out of nowhere and isn't diseased like Eddie. But other than a line about James staying with her, she serves no purpose. Even Bloober of all people actually added to her personality but all Gans did was give her a big coat.

It's also so wild how inconsequential Maria is in the movie. In the game I always considered her the second most important character, and her multiple personality changes every time you meet her are just completely absent. She's a nothing character. Like, I don't know what she is in the movie.

Its shockingly tame on using Pyramid Head. He's only in two scenes really but now he's just a thing James can summon? Like someone, maybe Gans, changed him as a personal vehicle of punishment to James to, I don't know, a fucking Digimon with a big knife.

I think it's the worst adaptation I've seen, worse than Silent Hill Revelation. Every character is done dirty. Eddie is an easter egg. Maria is reduced to a cameo. Angela is still a tragic and abused character, but now it's because of a cult instead of terrible "normal" family.

I'm still thinking about this movie. Like, what happened that turned a story about depression and illness into one about the daughter of a cult leader being drugged and having her blood eaten? Producer meddling? Is Gans just a crazy man? The best thing about it is that it's not boring.

The pleasure of showing Return to Silent Hill to friends that know the game well. I'm still baffled by it.

Two of these are already claimed. I'll see how these sell and decide if I'll do more. Ash has been the only of the initial 3 options to sell out, but the post processing is quite a bit for me.

Been super fatigued as of late. Just yesterday I laid down for a few minutes and was out for over an hour.

But got up this morning and painted some Ash figures. Just need to paint a few feet and they'll all be ready for a clear coat.

Oh and I think I got my tax prep done. Just gotta double check and then drop off to the accountant.

Feels like the first full productive day I've had in weeks. Drawing, painting, cooking, dishes. All done today. Feels good.

The real answer is to make silicone molds and resin cast them, but even just doing the heads introduces problems, mostly the cost.

Ash heads coated in resin and sanded. On one hand I think I put more than $13 worth of labor into these, but on the other I don't think anyone would really want to pay more than that. And I care too much to half ass it.

So I dunno how many more batches of these I'll do.

Whoever made it knew the assignment and hopefully is in jail.
