While 42 million Americans are wondering how to feed their families during a shutdown, our Vice President thought it was the perfect time for a cringeworthy Halloween post.

So the Vice President’s Halloween message is: "Trick-or-treat… just don’t expect the treat part!"

✔️ The Senate GOP has the power right now to end the shutdown without Democrats.
❌ They’re just choosing not to use it.
✅ Verdict: Anyone blaming Democrats is lying.

As I sit here in a polling center, waiting for voters to come in and vote, I did a little research:

It only takes 51 Senators to end the filibuster and reopen the government.

Republicans have 53. If they wanted to stop this shutdown, they could — right now.

The USDA has funding set aside to keep food assistance programs running during emergencies.

Trump just won’t release it.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

The GOP in Congress are worse than useless. They are craven enablers of murder.

SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

It’s not just the facade: Team Trump has wrecked much of the White House’s East Wing By Tuesday afternoon, it appeared obvious that a significant portion of the East Wing has been demolished, the president's earlier vows notwithstanding.

WOW: The White House says the president's MAIN PRIORITY is his BALLROOM. SNAP is ending. Subsidies for health care are gong to double and in some instances quadruple plan premiums. The government is shut down. The cost of living is through the roof. And his priority is his ballroom.

A building isn’t as important as the people his administration has murdered but there’s something breathtaking about seeing them literally demolish parts of the White House. I can’t stop looking at it

I'm not a West Wing obsessed lib or anything but the more I see pictures of this the more fucked up I think it is. It's like he cut off one of the hands of the Lincoln memorial with an angle grinder so he could add a big gun to it.
