Doing that will stifle creativity and lead to burn out. It's also impossible to know. Who is the market? What will they want in 6-12 months? Nobody knows

Got to spend the evening with my bf. Made entirely too much pasta. Like had to put some in the freezer amounts. And introduced him to The Pitt which he enjoyed. I get to see him again later in the week for some of my gym sessions maybe and all weekend for pre-vacation errands and monthly game night.

Got up and went to the gym and did weights. I wanted to do cardio too but my lower back is currently huge angry from tight hamstrings so I didn't. A friend got me a bunch of tools for it in like 2018 and I did a few small things as practice for cosplays I never finished. So last year when I needed new sandals and saw the price of leather shoes I was like well I can probably do that. And turns out I was right.

It wasn’t cheaper tho 😂

I am enjoying leatherworking again. I also know me and I know that I'm 1 finished project away from wanting a pair of lasts to use to make myself knee high boots that actually fit over thick calves and like I do not need another expensive solo hobby to abandon.

Soles have been nailed to the heel blocks (I didn’t trust only contact cement) and the heel has been sanded a little to curve more comfortably under the foot.

The straps have a second coat of dye. They’ll get a clear coat once they dry.

I also cut and lined all the straps and cut the upper soles. I need to hollow out the heel a little more so they’re comfy to stand in. I did a bit on the heel block but I don’t think it was enough. Then I have to burnish and dye the straps. Then next week I can assemble them and sand the edges even.

Finally got moving on the sandals I was planning to make last year. I figured I’m gonna need a pair for Antigua in a couple weeks so I may as well finish them.

The heel blocks have been assembled and glued to the soles. I need shoe nails before I can wet shape the soles tho.
