I've been watching back playtest videos (thanks @popelady.bsky.social!) and I'm surprised by how much people use their mouse to play Mythmatch.

One little request from @sanjum2.bsky.social led me down the path from "enough mouse support to rebind your keys" to a pretty robust implementation.

There is also the rule you can see on the bottom where knocking out an EX cards gives you 2 prize cards. They have other cards that are worth 3 so that is one counterbalance, but still.

Yeah. He accidentally bought a few old school commons and they are utterly useless compared to modern cards. But 220 for 2 energy is on the high end from what I've seen so far, which isn't very much to be fair.

Aegislash EX Pokemon card. Does 70 damage for each prize card collected for 1 energy or 220 damage (and 30 damage to itself) for 2 energy.

My son has gotten super into Pokemon TCG and I knew it'd be incredible for math and logic, but also willingness to read and really interesting conversations about luck, fairness, cheating, and game balance.

He thinks we should get rid of this card because it's too OP.

Reminds me of a story I saw that was something like "£100k of Pokemon Cards stolen" and I watched the video and he took like 7 cards. Same for a Jellycat theft article.

For the Co-op Arcade mode for Mythmatch, I want to have 2 characters without having to implement a custom skin. So I experimented with LUTs (Look Up Tables) and just tested with some evironment ones we had from Knights and Bikes. Much better looking than just a tint. Will get a custom one made!

Every time I've been impressed with technology in recent times, it has always been magnets. I just "fixed" my toaster by shaking it violently and learned that it's not a latch that keeps it down, it's a magnet.

I do think of all the times in my career that I have had long meetings with other departments about how difficult something might be only to go back and do it in like 5 minutes and basically say "oops, but at least I did it for you!" I'm much better at "no promises, but I'll look into it."

I'm curious on your perspective on not doing production work before production and presumably funding. Is it that your time is better spent elsewhere or it's just generally a bad idea?
