I saw an advert for an AI influencer generator. So, I checked it out. Here's the current list of actors/influencers they can create. If you see an ad from these faces, it's AI bullshittery. #ai

One major advantage with electric lawn mowers is easy incremental mowing. I walk back/forth across my yard a dozen times a day and I'll just push mow a strip each time. It was 3/4 mowed today with no extra time/effort.

Also, since it's so easy to start/stop, on a too-hot day I can mow in 5-10 […]

Well, that’s a first: I had to actually break the glass in case of fire.

This evening, I used a fire extinguisher on a brush fire that had started near a house just three doors down from our beach rental. The owners weren’t home, and if it hadn’t been stopped, it easily could’ve taken the house […]

The Earth reaches its aphelion on July 3. This day, the Sun will be 152,088,000 km from the Earth, farther away than at any other time during 2025.
Because the Earth's orbit is elliptical, not circular, our distance from the Sun changes over the course of a year. At perihelion (which falls in January), the Earth is about 5 million kilometers closer to the Sun than at aphelion in July. This difference in distance means that the Sun is 7% brighter at perihelion.
While the changing Earth-to-Sun distance does affect our climate somewhat, it is not the cause of the seasons—they are instead a result of the Earth's axial tilt. Northern Hemisphere residents wondering why they're so chilly in January even though the Sun is closer can blame the fact that their half of the planet is pointing away from the Sun.
