I cannot stress how radically different Tolkien felt reading him as an adult like you read this "generic fantasy" and realize nothing else after has been close to what he did. I would also argue most "porn addiction" outside of religion/religious trauma is based on not being willing to tell your partners that there are kinks you like and would like to be engaging in + just an all-out failure to put any priority at all on sexual compatibility (which happens often)
