bdsm contains a lot of roleplay of usually non-consensual acts (bondage, hypno, pred/prey, sado/maso, domination), these rules mark any fiction as non consensual acts, the only way currently to "make consent clear" is a "I consent" sticker (if that even work), otherwise it's up to the observer

these updated rules will officially take effect next month, but while they are effectively already being applied in some cases (see trans people being banned for wishing ill on jk Rowling), this will be publicly setting in stone the new way bluesky moderation handle things

a first draft of the updated rules was posted last month, the whole bluesky community sent lots of feedback asking for clarification then, following bluesky's demand for feedback. and after 14 000 feedbacks, they didn't clarify at all, they just changed the wording to say the same thing

many people came to bluesky because it promised to let people decide what they see on their timeline, be it sfw or nsfw, but now bluesky is saying they will decide first.

and the rules are vague enough that either they will have to moderate every post manually, or AI will decide arbitrarily

how do you define consensual drawings? Keke's animals getting bonked could be flagged as a depiction of violence on realistic animals, or Keke drawing pecs on tigers as sexualizing realistic animals, how many moderators will they have to check every claim
