My little sister is getting married on Saturday and we have a schedule fully packed in wedding prep, this is *not* the night for a fucking insomnia because I'm paranoid at every insignificant sound and everything is itchy for no reason.

It's 2:30am, I haven't been able to fall asleep yet, I have four mosquito bites (to which I am *allergic*), what's the probability that the asshole I just killed was the only one in my bedroom.

The harshest people tend to be the loudest, unfortunately =/. But if it can be comforting, even among people who have issues with the news, the issue usually isn't about Brennan himself 😅

And unless C4 is surprisingly short or Critical Role starts having multiple core campaigns at once... It will be many years before we see Matt DM-ing again on a long story 🥺. Definitely feels like the end of an era 🥲

No? People were chanting his name at the live show 🤣. But Matt & Brennan do have very different DM-ing styles, and it's okay to prefer one over the other 😅. I've got a friend who can't stand Matt's GM-ing style, and that's fine, taste, colour, preferences, yaddi yaddi yadda

Calamity was real real good, not gonna lie. But I wouldn't be surprised if his DM-ing style ends up being a bit different from that, as I feel like DM-ing a 4-episodes mini-series (or even a 20-ep one for D20) must be very different from DM-ing the gargantuan series CR loves...

New world & new DM, so that's actually gonna be the perfect time to start CR

Yeah that's definitely gonna be a great way to get more people into CR without having to catch up on 1500 hours of C1/C2/C3 aha

I hope the news on the game system & the cast will come up somewhat soon. The sooner I know, the sooner I can get used to the idea of change ahaha.

Prop to Critical Role for being willing to try out big changes, tbh. With how much they've been increasing their content production (2025 already has as much content as all of 2023), it's *good* not everything relies on the same set of 8 people. Sharing the work is good to avoid burnout 🙏.

Also, now they've got plenty of time to move Exandria to Daggerheart (I'm sure they will do that some day) and figure out the ramifications of C3's ending... Yeah for not rushing things 🎉.

Next year's live shows were announced as Echoes of Exandria, which means we are def coming back to some C1/C2/C3 characters then 🎉. And now that Matt doesn't have to DM a big campaign, maybe there's more space for post-C3 one-shots or mini-series 👀. Follow-up to M9/BH Team Up, when 👀?

What do you think will come first: another big campaign in Exandria, or Bells Hells animated 😁? I'm excited for that: now they can work on the animated shows without being concerned a big lore will drop in the main campaign and lead them to change some stuff. It happened a few times with C3 & VM.

I'm surprisingly very okay with the new world thingy. Exandria is fun, but it's getting real big to get into, so I'm curious whether this will give a new nice starting point for a lot of people 😊. I also wouldn't say no to a shorter campaign ahaha 😅. We'll see whether that's the case.

Plus, most of the folks I've found out through the Critical Role family have been a delight, and I can't wait to find out even more delightful people 😁. After all, the Calamity mini-series is what made me consider taking a look at Dropout shows, and it's been a great find so far ☺️.

I'm both sad and excited about the mention of new faces. Sad, because no way the OG cast are all in C4, and I will miss them. Excited, because fresh blood means new romance options & other character dynamics that don't feel like constantly rotating the same set of players 😂.

It'll be nice to see Matt play a character for more than a few episodes, and not have to turn his brain off because of knowing the lore too much. I'm curious what type of long-term player he is 👀. Is he going to try to romance someone's character 👀?

Okay, at first I was concerned about Brennan being too busy, but! His podcast (which I should listen to) is about to change DMs, and D20 is only one part of Dropout, so it does feel less... Time-consuming than everything that's going on with Critical Role. Hope he has a lot of fun 😊.

October 2nd? Somewhat that's a lot earlier than I thought it'd be. I'mma start betting on which one is gonna come up first, me signing for the house or C4 starting 🤣. That's something to look forward to 🎉

I have so many random thoughts about that big Critical Role news, and I stayed up way too late yesterday because of it, so I'mma just write them down here with no order whatsoever and hope it makes somewhat sense 🧵

Ugh yeah, I don't think we went up to 39 around here, but we had around 33/34 at some points, and the nights without AC were rough 🥲

I'm sure those UK folks are talking about 30°C 🤪.

But in any case those debates are always silly, nobody is surprised that different plants thrive in very different climates, why can't different people thrive (and thus suffer) in very different climates too 😅.

Exactly the feel-good book I needed today. Teenage romances are usually not my thing, but it was a cute and fun read, and I enjoyed the characters. This book almost made me wish I had gone to camp (before immediately remembering that I would have hated it lol).
