It can't have been 10 years already 22 Sep, 2025 [This post is lifted from a passage in my upcoming novel Aspenhaps.] Ten (10) years of UNDERTALE. Timegrief re-engage. Post-anniversary_stream(s) I still feel aching need to convey the incalculable weight on my own terms. Can’t let it slip by. My voice, my contribution to the ideally-unending celebration. Nothing seems adequate. It’s more than a date. Been a week since the decade set itself in stone, chronicling four days of buildup to two days of creator-driven appreciation+examination+recalibration, and only now has the long-term emotional consequence reared its uglybeautiful head. Grand reopening of the heart’s SOUL-shaped hole. Nothing seems adequate. Shall I write? Shall I sing? Meanderingly I begin by taking the vicarious approach, seeking the artwork, the comments, the communal sensation, and to some extent regret this, for the unfavorable Sentimentality:Petty_Fandom_Drama ratio, textual thorns unexpectedly-but-in-hindsight-unsurprisingly poking through, punishment for brief breakage of the Detox guidelines, scratch marks left across my arms as I exit the sacred garden. But one such Post stops me in my tracks. “in tears”

As I write this, a measly 4 yet-to-be-finished songs still stand between me and the official release of GET STICKBLOOD. That hyperlink doesn't lead to an actual overview page right now, but it will later. When is "later"? If I'm exceedingly lucky, by the end of this month. If I'm being realistic, sometime in September. If I'm being honest, N/A, because no more will I estimate. For 5 years I have upheld the baffling habit of pre-determining the exact order of mainline musical releases based either on VIBES or LOOSE THEMATIC PROGRESSION, an order which slightly more recently — beginning with the release of d — would then vaguely be placed onto a SCHEDULE, and to all of that I finally say No More, in line with the repeated advice of multiple loved ones to whom I apologize for not listening sooner. Apparently all I needed to do to get that through my thick fucking skull was to "fail" so spectacularly that not even 5 years' worth of carefully-cultivated brainworms would be enough to rationalize it any longer.

GET STICKBLOOD was originally supposed to come out by the end of FEBRUARY. Then by MARCH. Then by APRIL. Then I gave up on publicly announcing estimates, but still secretly hoped it'd be by the end of MAY, which it wasn't. Nor was it by the end of JUNE, or JULY for that matter. I can't yet say the same for AUGUST with absolute certainty, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Its development cycle has spanned a year and a half, an unfathomable amount of time relative to any previous Roxy Radclyffe LP. As a result of this, my intended amount of 2025 LPs has at least been cut in half. And that's fine. All of this should be fine. I do not have a boss. I have not signed a contract. Yet I have never felt more crushed by anything in my entire creative life. Turns out upholding yourself to unreasonable standards — such as Completing The Entire Rest Of A Hyper-Ambitious Multi-Hour "Rock Opera" In A Month — yields disappointing results! Who could have fucking guessed?!

The fact of the matter is this: not a single day goes by where I haven't made some amount of progress on some amount of my innumerable art projects. I don't even have to consciously aim for that; I simply need a creative outlet, whatever my Hyperfixation Roulette may have decided it'll be that day/week/month. Every project's completion is an inevitability, and trying to systematically ensure they be Expedited is — in addition to being unnecessary — prone to causing the complete opposite effect. It's all so fucking obvious, dude. Literally nothing I'm saying here is revelatory. But I allowed self-awareness to absolve me for so long that the tangible consequences have at last caught up with me. A post-STICKBLOOD iteration of the Radclyffe Region will be faced with the ultimate crossroads: do we listen to our heart's desires, or the desires of a version of us who no longer exists? I do not owe my past plans anything more than Enacting Them However I See Fit, which could mean anything from speedy delivery to outright cancellation.

All of that is to say: never again will I be Announcing that an Album is Coming Out on This Specific Day, or even Somewhere Within This Specific Month. It's over. There is no order. There is only whatever simultaneous work happens to be done first, effectively a matter of pure chance. Instead I will be sharing broader overviews of where things are headed, revealing multiple albums' covers & titles with no strings attached. Your only guarantee is that They Are Indeed Being Worked On And Have A Cover As Well As A Title. They will arrive when they arrive, and I will let you know when that happens. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm a changed woman. For real this time.
