Later this year, weโ€™ll unveil a whole new look for Hanami, Dry and Rom. Hereโ€™s a preview!

This will be a huge boost for our projects, I can already feel it.

Thank you to @aaronmoodie.com for bringing this to life! Also to @makenosound.bsky.social whoโ€™s already getting our new website into shape.

@craigmod.com enjoyed your piece on Literary Hub. Curious about what you use to take notes as youโ€™re walking. Do you record audio and then convert to text, or dictate straight into Notes etc?

So the Remix / React Router situation has me thoroughly confused. If I'm wanting to start a new 'Remix' project todayโ€“ which I intemperate as a full-stack appโ€“should I be using Remix or React Router 7 in 'Framework' mode? ๐Ÿคท

I've been thinking about a substack alternative, where the main selling point is the editor and publishing experience. As well as BYO domains, folks can BYO hosting, as each blog would be exported as a static site. The network is still there for discovery, but there's no platform lock-in.

lol, replied to the wrong post. Should have been the "static as a server" post.

โ€œStatic is a server that runs ahead of time" is a great, clarifying line. You should put this at the start of the article. Or even the as the title.

I think about this calendar often. Both for its ingenuity and creativity, and for its lack of success.

Sequels and reboots frustrate me โ€“ where are all the new ideas?. But perhaps they mark the death throes of our self-referential culture. Let it fade away. A new generation's fresh ideas are waiting to emerge.

Apple ordered to open encrypted user accounts globally to UK spying The secret order would give the UK access to encrypted backups belonging to any user โ€” not just Brits.

The challenge is there is truth to this โ€“ bureaucracies have become complex and opaque. They are after all run by fallible humans. However, Instead of dismantling everything, we can look to examples like Taiwan where technology has been used to improve democracy through transparency and openness.

This includes how bureaucratic systems โ€“ critical for the survival of democracy โ€“ become complex, opaque and distrusted by the public. This in turn makes them a target for Populists, who advocate to 'fix' the problem by dismantling the very mechanisms that keep democracy functioning.
