Mr. Witkoff was in Russia. I have not notice never a positive outcome of those visit. Every single time Witkoff's messages from Putin have turned Trump's head into the wrong direction and demands of unfair peace are coming back to the table.

I have been as a board member in state owned big company. State can give unofficially "steering" advice (not public) to the board. If the board don't want to follow them, the state as the owner can call extra general meeting which makes the wanted decisions and dismisses the board if needed.

We don't really know what kind of orders government might have given to those companies. It's also possible that companies have made their own decisions because of the situation. And yes, it's not yet permanent.

I'm pretty sure that state owned refineries do what the government tells them to do. I did not write anything about private companies.
