Honestly as flawed as FDR was as a person and some of the policies he put forward were, he still did quite a bit to help us and we wouldn’t have a lot of the wonderful things we enjoy like social security or Medicare without him, overall I think he was pretty alright as a president.

I think that’s why I’m so excited to see this project fully debut, it’ll be the first example of how long distance HSR can be a thing in the US and can be practical. When the Japanese built the Shinkansen system back in the 60’s it was also way over budget, but no one harps on that nowadays

On the right track there is a GE P42 Genesis from Amtrak which is currently pushing a Surfliner train up to Los Angelos, to the left of it is an EMD F125 Metrolink engine for either the Inland Empire or Orange County line both at Oceanside Transit Center

Keep forgetting to post this but on my way home from school this past Wednesday I saw a Surfliner being powered by a GE P42 Genesis roll by, it was a neat engine to see

HO (1:87 scale) version of the NCTD Sprinter manufactured by PIKO

It’s crazy to me how the model railroading world has reached the point to where there exists an HO scale version of the Sprinter with fully accurate DCC sounds and such (and I want one so bad)

My family has that exact Thomas Kinkade set with 4 passenger cars lol
