Great, Great crowd at the Sioux Falls #NoKings rally #LoveAmerica protest today! Over 7,500 lined Phillips Avenue downtown. Peaceful get-together, and when Trump faithful drove by, we chanted, "Love, not hate, makes America great!" Way to go, everybody!!!

I did the thing. I have been busy lately. Not posting much. After 30 radiation treatments, I am officially done. Huge surprise party of friends, family, and my pastor at the finish line for me. Little tear-eyed.

Post-op for my throat surgery. My doctor says "all clear," looks like they got it all!! 28 days of radiation coming up in my near future after some healing. Any prayers, good juju, vibes, whatever you've got, much appreciated! Thank you.

PET-CT scan came back. Malignant tumor found in throat near where my left tonsil used to be and lower. 3 cm x 2.5 cm. But NO metastasis anywhere, no other hotspots (scanned head to thigh) or lesions! (I also have CLL so I was worried) Surgery & radiation, but should be end of it. Deep sigh of relief

I need that Jedi mind trick about now. Today I found out I have throat cancer. My leukemia has sprouted a baby. Oncology team coming together on Monday to formulate a plan to let me know how to kick its ass as quickly as possible. Will update once mission is completed.

Interesting note (to us from SW Minnesota), Frederick Manfred (author of Lord Grizzly, which "The Revenant" stole its story from) was from Luverne, MN and a prolific writer. His "Green Earth" book coined the phrase, "Siouxland," which we all now refer to our area so colloquially.

"Normal," versus a Trump rally - where everyone is older, white - dressed the same, in Trump merch, waving Trump or Confederate flags. It just looked like a civic parade would happen to be going by soon, except we had protest signs in our hands!

It was a good trouble kinda morning into an early afternoon in downtown Sioux Falls! Deep red country, and thousands on hand! Very civil, very loud - and yet, it looked like a cross-section of America. Looked like we had taken everyone out of the grocery store and given them signs, they looked 1/2

Found my Haight & Ashbury tie-dye shirt i got while in San Francisco years ago. Perfect! Gonna be 45° tomorrow, so I'll wear a turtleneck under it. Faded jeans, Doc Martens, and my sign! My sign has a little R & W mushroom 🍄 in the corner I drew and colored in on my poster for who know, you know!
