I don't think America's levels of political polarization are particularly high compared to many other democracies (I'd say it's just as bad in the UK, France, India, South Korea etc) but the difference is other countries don't prioritize guns over humans.

One thing that I notice is that books and games that use AI text keep getting caught out because they cut and pasted the text and didn't remove the prompts or replies. Which suggests that using AI goes hand in hand with a general "fuck it, that'll do" lack of attention to detail throughout.
