The best thing about Blender is that it's free. Other 3D programs like C4D are prohibitively expensive and are a huge barrier to someone just trying to learn. Blender also works with a camera and lights, which is way more intuitive for me coming from a film background, as opposed to shapes on a page

The nostalgia doesn't lie, lol. Yeah I started as a musician, then came music production, then came sound design, then motion graphics. I have to keep it focused because if I put everything I do on here it'd be all over the place, haha. Maybe one day.

I'm really into lighting and scenes as well as motion, for 3D printing there are some good modeling tutorials out there. Ducky3D even has a video of his favorite creators in different areas within Blender.

I think so. I picked it up three times before it finally stuck. I come from After Effects with lots of video game theory in 3d, so it was a combination of getting the muscle memory for navigation and shortcuts and finding an angle I could work. I suggest Ducky3D on YouTube, his tuts are approachable

Yeah, same. I was young when 3d first started showing up on computers and later when the Playstation came out. It takes me back to when that stuff was blowing my tiny mind.

That's pretty much the vibe I was going for, haha. Glad it landed. Partly because I was right at the age when that stuff was new and exciting, and it's within my reach now for the first time.
