He likes harvesting it from this particular place because the water is very clean and there's no sand, so he doesn't have to rinse it.
He says young people are no longer interested in this local delicacy.
Today we went to Loop's Head and met an Irishman collecting seaweed from the rocks. I asked him what kind it was and he gave the Irish name, Sleabhach or SliucΓ‘in. He's been collecting it all his life and was out picking some for his neighbours who had requested it.
