They really did not want Talarico to win. They wanted Crockett to win, why?

So they could use her baggage, her "abrasiveness", her femaleness, and her blackness AGAINST her to split the Dem base like they did with Hillary and Kamala.

They got Talarico instead.

My point is that the GOP is SO hyperfixated on trying to kill certain candidates and keep power in some places they are losing others BADLY, and they are actively activating more voters against them.

This is exactly the same mistake the Democrats made ten years in a goddamned row.

And yet the vote failed to be suppressed enough to matter.

This is just an unfortunate truth. Right now it's not what we need.

Maybe when we pull back so far from Fascism we're actually progressive. But not now.

I love watching voter suppression fail in real time.

A tale of two elections:

1: Texas - the GOP tried to suppress the vote so that a candidate with more baggage would win. They failed. Now they have a Dem that fights on their own platform.

2: NC - The GOP did not pay attention and several DINOs lost/resigned, causing NC Dems to shift further left.

I think possibly, the Latino vote bloc especially trends a bit more religious. Texas is very Latino heavy.

This represents the big divide between how Talarico and Crockett campaigned. Crockett ran a primary-heavy campaign, betting she could boost turnout with traditional blocs within the Democratic coaliton. Talarico is using this primary as a test run to stitch disaparate parts together for a coaliton.

The GOP tried to suppress the vote in Texas because they wanted Crockett to be the person they fought against. They could have used SO much racist rhetoric and her friendliness towards Crypto against her.

But they failed. Now they have to face Talarico who has none of that baggage.

And yet the votes were counted. People continued to vote.

The GOP wanted Talarico Primaried so they could face the arguably weaker Crockett who had an unfortunate "I am cool with crypto and Israel" position that left a bad taste in a lot of mouths. They failed.

Correction: they TRIED and they FAILED to get Talarico primaried by fucking with Democratic voting in Dallas county.

Tried and FAILED.

And I think people are sick of the pungency and just want to have someone not be tied to crypto or Israel or any of that. That REALLY damaged her.

There's a lot of angry black voters particularly upset and calling this racist right now... Bro Talarico is the same ideals as Crockett.

Actually the GOP TRIED this and it still did not matter. Enough votes got in for the person that most people wanted to win.

The GOP is pretty fucked in this regard in Texas yes. They REALLY did not want Talarico to win.

A clean win in the Democratic territory with a nasty run-off in the Republican primary puts Blexas into play in November, IMO.
