We were happy to work with the Second Congregational Church of Warren, Maine to bring this collection, including administrative records and materials from the church's auxiliary groups, such as the Women's Circle, the King's Daughters, and the Mission Circle, to the CLA.

In addition to his work on abolition, suffrage, and equal rights, he also spoke out against the hypocrisy of religious leaders promoting slavery, arguing that β€œthe religious press, the pulpit, the Sunday school… should array their immense powers against slavery and slave-holding.”
