On Sunday, I joined volunteers to collect cigarette butts, coffee cups, lids, and snack wrappers from the Lake Ontario shoreline. If left behind, these items break down into microplastics that end up in our water and our bodies.

Ontario is the only province seeing fewer housing starts than last year. Cutting the 8% HST, as @ontarioliberal.bsky.social are urging Doug Ford to do, could mean up to 45,000 new homes and thousands of good-paying jobs.

This is an easy way to jumpstart home building and drive economic activity.

College support staff are on strike over poor working conditions, disrupting student learning and campus services.

Doug Ford has delayed our return to Queen’s Park until Oct 20, but I’m ready to push for better support for St. Lawrence College staff and students.

I stopped by @stlawrencecollege.bsky.social to meet with striking support staff and hear their concerns. Years of chronic underfunding from Doug Ford have left colleges struggling, leading to program cuts and mass layoffs.

Ontario’s future depends on investing in colleges & universities.

The importance of school trustees Doug Ford's Education Minister has recently mused about eliminating school trustees in Ontario. Many don't know what they do, but they're important voices in our schools and communities.

Trustees ensure local voices are heard and act as a check on provincial power. They are also the bridge between families and the education system.

With school buses back on the roads, please remember to be vigilant of children exiting and boarding buses. Passing a school bus with its sign out is illegal, and you can be fined $400 to $2,000 and receive six demerit points for a first offence.
