I was in Marrickville library last week doing some work on a visit to Sydney and there's a terrific selection of DVDs there too.

That's a really good summation of politics at the present time.

My grandfather was a staunch Labour supporter for his all of his life. I'm so glad he didn't get to see their transformation into the abomination they have become. They are only concerned with pandering to the racists and purging the left.

Decent crowd considering the conditions!

Some of the Zimbabwean fielding was incredible. Great bowling at the death too.

Great night of sport. Highlanders beating the Crusaders at the death in Super Rugby and a massive upset in the T20 world cup with Zimbabwe beating Australia. Exhausted now!

That was wild! Great effort from Zimbabwe....some tremendous fielding....only saw the last ten overs but they showed great commitment

I was buying quite a few CDs until I changed my car. Holding on to them though and looking for a cheap CD player. I buy loads of DVDs from second hand shops and have picked up plenty of good stuff which is unavailable on streaming.

He was lovely in the fact that he was happy to sign autographs, chat etc but just so intense. Don't think he has an off switch!

I met him once in a bar in New Zealand after Wales had played the All Blacks in 2010. He was great to talk to but absolutely terrifying and intense.....I got the feeling the players were scared witless by him!

Yes he certainly had a point. I read a book of poetry called Dear Neil Roberts by Airini Beutrais which was interesting too. Only a small book but learned a lot about him. A lot of the poems used pieces from newspapers and documents of the time. Well worth a read.

Only became aware of this after moving to Whanganui last year after seeing an artwork in the Sarjeant Gallery here which used that quote. Don't really understand why its not more well known in NZ history.

How Paul Robeson found his political voice in the Welsh valleys African American star Robeson built his singing career in the teeth of racism in the early 1900s. But his radicalism was spurred on in Britain – by a chance meeting with a group of Welsh miners

Amazing man. Growing up in South Wales my grandfather spoke in glowing terms about Paul Robeson and how he was a friend and ally of the South Wales miners. The article below goes into more detail. www.theguardian.com/books/2017/j...

Honestly what is it with these ego-centric idiots going on about their followers. Its like a cult. I left the other place over a year ago and couldnt care less about how many likes or whatever I get here. Its just good to have some good conversations etc without the bile and trolls.

Looking forward to it. Will let you know!

Will get onto that. Didn't realize it was based on a book until recently. Thought Paul Mescal was terrific in Aftersun. Loved that film too as well as All of us strangers. First saw Jessie Buckley in Men which is a bit of a weird folk horror sort of film but thought she was outstanding in that.

Hoping to see this next week. Sounds great and I love Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal as actors. They both seem to rarely put a foot wrong. Is the book a good read?

This is a great radio show for those who like weird and wonderful music. Highly recommend it......have discovered loads of new music and rediscovered older stuff like Broadcast through it.

I'm pretty sure the blonde drag queen charging down the line is Heidi Heights aka Steele Quinnell who is the son of ex Wales and British Lion Scott Quinnell. Has taken a somewhat different career path but his Dad is very proud of his choice.

My wife's family are all from Ebbw Vale....the Welsh version. Pronounced Eb-oo. Always bloody freezing cold there.

Same. I was in San Francisco years ago for a wedding. Loved it and always wanted to go back but there's no way I'm going to that country again.

That's impressive. Had a poor reading year....only finished about 26. Lot of extenuating circumstances but still. Hoping to have a more productive year in 2026.

Another master class in batting from Travis Head. Carey not bad either!

I like Healy in fairness. Just think it's a bit weird having her commentate on her partner. Warner is awful. Agree on Bishop and McKay. Bishop is excellent. Love his commentary

The Fox coverage is a bit mixed I think. Too much "bantz" and commentators like Healy and Warner who are too close to the players/still playing. I like Gilchrist and Guha but O'Keefe and Vaughan irritate me. NZ commentary team is a far nicer listen.
