To be honest I think managers are interested in this and keen to be involved. Medics just see the link more easily perhaps/known it for longer

Shame other continents aren't involved.
What needs to be done to bring places like ๐บ๐ธ and ๐ฆ๐ท back as well as other nations across Africa, the Americas and Asia involved? Is itbas simple as money?

15.04.2025 10:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And flowthian! Just came to me! Why bed occupancy went from over 100% to more over 100%?
07.04.2025 16:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I quote the โright hand corner of doomโ quite a lot at work!
05.04.2025 16:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Interesting. So something has changed from the previous relationship between downstream LoS and the front door. Hospital at home?
03.04.2025 15:53 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Hmmm. My head hurts thinking about this. But we know that every increase in LoS further downstream has a subsequent increase in LoS in ED so presumably.
03.04.2025 09:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0A chart showing two boxplots, one above the other. The boxplots measure length of stay (in hours) in an Acute Medical Unit (AMU). The top boxplot (January 2020) shows lower quartile, median and upper quartile length of stay values of 13, 21 and 30 hours respectively. The bottom boxplot (January 2024) shows lower quartile, median and upper quartile length of stay values of 22, 40 and 64 hours respectively.
Last week I did a lot of messing around with line charts and scatterplots to try and show how Acute Medical Unit (AMU) length of stay has changed over the last few years. Actually, I think I just needed to draw two boxplots.

Iโm hoping I can convince you a coffee based chat may be helpful to both of us?
29.03.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That final graph is mind blowing! Complexity of acute admissions went up โafter-COVIDโ combined with flow problems meant that more patients seemed to get โstuckโ on AMUs. AMUs arenโt designed for this - lack of continuity and โslower streamโ care eg MDT rehab

I seem to be finding that the longer-stay cohort are occupying a lot more AMU beds than they used to. The shorter-stay cohort: not much change.
Love this!
