Flash back to that time that I did a really beautiful over all anatomy study that was nice enough no one noticed the horrible feet. So I then followed it up with a study where I rendered the feet out more than anything else in the study.

Claude has BO! Big time! Remember that chapter when he went into battle, realized he needed backup, went off mysteriously, and came back as a Barbarossa with the Immortal Fliers?

Battle, immediate lone wyvern travel, fighting to prove worthy of command probably, and the a march back.

He SMELLED!

Right?

I mean, in Fire Emblem (awakening in particular when they’re always on the march but have a lot of romantic support elements) I REALLY hope they have breath freshener.

Maybe that’s why all of Gregor’s romances are great tho. Maybe he’s the only one who chews mint.

I feel immersion.

Every cast, every Fire Emblem game, with exception to the ones where they have a home base, is smelling. Real bad all the time.

And the ones with bases smell from the marching and camping and war and hard labour when they’re not at home base.

I saw this video essay title somewhere (didn’t listen to the essay because I was busy. But I dearly regret it because I can’t find it again) that was basically—

“Your fav video game character stinks. As in actually. Like…they smell bad.”

And I can’t stop thinking about it.

It all feels familiar.

It was a time that was really characterized by a clashing of imperialist English philosophies that were created to keep the population and colonies in line.

And experimentation and comfort being a new feature in the evolution of women’s underwear, with more comfortable flexible stays, and women either wearing undergarments promoted by the aforementioned high fashion sex workers or going entirely undergarment-less.

And most of all, an era where people were obsessed with love and sex.

Both with authority and religious bodies repressing it and increasingly open minded young people embracing it.

Women and girls literally collecting painted cards of real sex workers like baseball cards to trade.

An empire teetering on collapse with an unclear future even as it sits at the height of it’s power perpetuated by the violence it commits abroad.

A clash of new and old ideas in society, as people propose an opening of the closed social circles versus those who guard them jealously.

I’m very interested in the fact that the Regency Era seems to be back in fashion this decade.

It’s always been a fixation of mine. And so I can see what’s appealing to the modern audience.
