First, do you think that proportional representation is the end-all be-all expansion of democracy? Have you read the proposal yet? To answer your question, this gives the people the decision-making power on how to spend a small portion of THEIR money. Many cities in the U.S. have some form of PB.

Please read what the @your2centspdx.bsky.social campaign is actually proposing. The people can fund the programs they want. Thousands of municipalities around the globe have a participatory budgeting process. It’s not new. Portland is behind the curve.

I'm disappointed to hear this kind of behavior coming from Councilor Koyama-Lane's office.

Sprout is someone I know personally, whom I met on the campaign trail. I trust her complaints are legitimate. The city needs to investigate this matter fully.
